The festival that tells the story of Pollein
Pollein eun Fita (Pollein in celebration) is the main event of the municipality of Pollein, in the Aosta Valley, a few kilometres from Aosta. It unfolds over three weekends of events at the Grand Place, between late April and early May, celebrating both the patron saint Saint George, the tradition of the Batailles de Reines, and the community life of the village.
Tradition, cow fights, and memory
The heart of the festival is the festival of the patron saint Saint George, with the associated blessings and civil and religious ceremonies. Alongside this is the eagerly awaited elimination round of the Batailles de Reines, the contests between Aosta Valley breed cows, and in 2026, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Bataille di Moudzoùn, with a dedicated photographic exhibition. The festival is organised by the Pro Loco of Pollein together with the Comité Amis Batailles de Reines, the Gruppo Alpini ANA, and the Polisportiva Pollein.
Music, theatre, and flavours
The evenings are enlivened by orchestras and folk groups from the Aosta Valley, theatre performances in Patois, a mobile disco for younger audiences, and gastronomic events such as the breeders' dinner. The traditional game of Paletou, managed by the Polisportiva, is also featured. A rich programme that unites different generations around the village's roots.

The 2026 edition of Pollein eun Fita is spread over three weekends of festivities at the Grand Place in Pollein, with a programme that blends tradition, cow fights, music, and community events. Among the highlights are the 50th anniversary of the Bataille di Moudzoùn with a dedicated photographic exhibition, the festival of the patron saint Saint George, and the elimination round of the Batailles de Reines.
The event is organised by the Pro Loco of Pollein together with the Comité Amis Batailles de Reines, the Gruppo Alpini ANA, and the Polisportiva Pollein.

First weekend — April 17-18
- Friday 17: mobile disco for young people
- Saturday 18: celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Bataille di Moudzoùn; dancing evening with the orchestra I Ragazzi del Villaggio
Second weekend — April 24-26
- Thursday 24: theatre performance by the company Le Beurt et Boun; photographic exhibition on the 50th anniversary of Moudzoùn
- Saturday 25 (Saint George, patron saint): patron saint's festivities, afternoon dancing with Lady Barbara, blessing of the new flag of the Pollein Fire Brigade (founded in 1888) with an exhibition of historical equipment
- Sunday 26: elimination round of the Batailles de Reines; evening with Marco e Simon
Third weekend — May 1-2
- Friday 1: traditional Paletou competition (organised by Polisportiva Pollein); music and socialising
- Saturday 2: breeders' dinner; closing evening with Erik e le Poudzo Valdoten
