A village festival in the heart of Tuscany's ceramics capital

The Pizza and Fresh Pasta Festival is one of the most beloved summer events in Montelupo Fiorentino, a town in the Province of Florence world-renowned for its ceramic tradition. Organized by the Circolo Ricreativo e Culturale Il Progresso APS, in collaboration with Auser and La Racchetta, and supported by the Municipality of Montelupo Fiorentino and Cesvot, the festival reached its fifth edition in 2026 and has firmly established itself in the Tuscan village festival calendar.

Where and when

The event takes place at the Summer Arena of Piazzale dei Continenti, next to the Largo Beaucaire gardens, in an outdoor area designed to welcome families. The festival spans two consecutive weekends in June: the first part runs from Thursday to Sunday, and the second the following week, with the kitchen and food stands opening every evening.

What to eat

The heart of the festival is the kitchen. It starts with the inimitable pizzas by La Racchetta, offering a wide selection ranging from classic flavors to more creative options, followed by fresh pasta dishes prepared by the volunteers of Circolo Il Progresso: tagliatelle, torchietti, and tortellini served with traditional sauces. The menu is completed by appetizers, homemade desserts, wine, and beer. It is genuine, popular cuisine at affordable prices, in the best spirit of Tuscan festivals.

More than just food: music, dance, and fun

Alongside the gastronomy, every evening features a different entertainment program: from performances by local music schools to ballroom dancing nights with live orchestras, piano bars, children's activities, and finally, the Argentine tango that closes the event. A simple and welcoming formula that makes the Pizza and Fresh Pasta Festival a gathering place for the entire community of Montelupo Fiorentino and the nearby Empolese-Valdelsa area.

An event by the Circolo Il Progresso

A historic local association, the Circolo Il Progresso carries out the festival thanks to the work of its volunteers, reinvesting the proceeds into recreational and cultural activities for the area. Participating in the festival therefore also means supporting the community life of Montelupo Fiorentino.
