About Piove di Luce
A month of lights in the historic center
Piove di Luce is the Christmas program of Piove di Sacco, in the province of Padua. From the lighting of the Christmas tree until Epiphany, the historic center fills with lights, events, and festive moments, with a schedule spread over weekends and holidays.
Projections on the Carrarese Tower
The most evocative moment is the lighting of the Christmas tree in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, accompanied by light projections on the medieval Carrarese Tower, a symbol of the city. The calendar continues with theater performances, marching bands through the streets of the center, concerts, and the traditional Christmas gospel concert in the Duomo.
Markets and festivities for everyone
Among the highlights are the Christmas market with local products, performances by youth orchestras, and the Christmas show in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. The event is coordinated by the Pro Loco of Piove di Sacco with the support of local associations and the Chamber of Commerce of Padua, and represents one of the main Advent events in the Saccisica.
Piove di Luce — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Piove di Luce is expected from late November 2026 until January 6, 2027, with the usual widespread program. The opening includes the lighting of the Christmas tree with light projections on the Carrarese Tower; the program then continues with theater performances, marching bands, concerts, the Christmas gospel concert in the Duomo, the Christmas market, and the Christmas show in the square.
