Music, words, and culture in the courtyard of Palazzo Farnese
Piacenza Summer Cult is the major summer review of the Emilia-Romagna capital, which every year enlivens the evocative courtyard of Palazzo Farnese, in Piazza Cittadella, right in the center of Piacenza. For almost a month, from June 25 to July 17, 2026, the ancient Farnese Renaissance residence becomes an open-air theater under the stars, where music, words, and culture meet evening after evening. The formula that gives the event its name โ Music, Words, Culture โ well describes the eclectic soul of the program, capable of shifting from major pop concerts to comedy, from ballet to civic theater.
The 2026 edition is of great caliber, with a long list of beloved names from the Italian scene. It ranges from concerts by Nomadi, Francesco Gabbani, Fiorella Mannoia, Daniele Silvestri, Arisa, and Marco Masini, to the British band Blue on tour for their twenty-fifth anniversary. Alongside music, there is comedy with Paolo Cevoli, Paolo Ruffini, and Elio e le Storie Tese, sports storytelling by Federico Buffa, and investigative theater by Sigfrido Ranucci.
The added value of the review is precisely the location: the monumental courtyard of Palazzo Farnese, one of the architectural symbols of Piacenza and Emilia-Romagna, offers a spectacular setting that is hard to match. For the occasion, a stage with seating is set up, while the "Summercult ti porta al museo" initiative offers ticket holders exclusive visits to the Museums of Palazzo Farnese at a reduced rate.
Organized by the Municipality of Piacenza together with Comunica srl and Bewonder, the review is now a classic of the Piacenza summer and a cultural reference point for the entire province of Piacenza. The evenings generally start at 9:15 PM and attract audiences from all over the region, confirming Piacenza Summer Cult among the most followed summer festivals in western Emilia-Romagna.
The 2026 edition of Piacenza Summer Cult offers a particularly dense program, ranging from auteur pop to comedy, from ballet to investigative theater. The review opens on June 25 with the grand ballet performance Delirium and closes on July 17 with Marco Masini's concert. All evenings take place in the monumental setting of the Palazzo Farnese courtyard in Piacenza.
