About PerSo Film Festival
Real Cinema in Perugia
The PerSo – Perugia Social Film Festival is dedicated to social documentary and civil engagement. Founded in 2015, it is promoted by the La Città del Sole Onlus Foundation in collaboration with the RealMente APS Association, centered around the keywords "cinema, community, inclusion". The festival takes place in numerous locations across Perugia, involving the entire city.
Sections and Awards
The program is divided into several sections, two of which are competitive: the PerSo Award, an international competition for medium and feature-length documentaries, and the PerSo Short Award, dedicated to documentary short films. Alongside the competitions, there are retrospectives, tributes to directors, and thematic sections on current issues.
Virtual Reality and Educational Projects
One of PerSo's distinctive features is its virtual reality immersive experience section, which expands the language of documentary filmmaking. The festival also develops educational projects for university students and programs with inmates, confirming its social and inclusive mission and its deep connection with the fabric of Perugia and Umbria.

Getting Here
Screenings are held in various halls and spaces in Perugia. By train: Perugia Fontivegge station and then the Minimetrò to the city center. By car: exit at Perugia (E45 or Bettolle-Perugia junction).
