About San Lorenzo Quingentole

In Quingentole, a small municipality in Oltrepò Mantovano overlooking the Po River, San Lorenzo is the patron saint celebrated in mid-August. The patronal feast, around August 10th, enlivens the town with religious and community events in the setting of the beautiful Baroque church of San Lorenzo Martire. In autumn, the village gathers again for the October Festival, a gastronomic and popular event that concludes the season of Mantuan festivals.

San Lorenzo, Patron Saint of Quingentole

Quingentole is a small municipality in the province of Mantua, in the Oltrepò Mantovano region, overlooking the course of the Po River. Its patron saint is Saint Lawrence, deacon and martyr, to whom the parish church is dedicated, a valuable Baroque building constructed between 1751 and 1754. The patronal feast is celebrated around August 10th, the saint's liturgical day, and traditionally extends until August 13th.

The August Patronal Feast

During the feast days, the town gathers around the figure of the patron saint, with religious celebrations in the church of San Lorenzo Martire and moments of conviviality that animate the center. It is a cherished event, uniting devotion and tradition in the heart of the Mantuan summer, when the small village on the Po comes alive.

The October Festival

Alongside the patronal feast, Quingentole's calendar includes the October Festival in autumn, a gastronomic and popular event that celebrates the flavors and traditions of the area. Together with the summer fair, the October Festival marks the community life of the town, offering opportunities for gathering and celebration throughout the year.

A Village on the Po

Experiencing the patronal feast or the festival in Quingentole means discovering an authentic corner of Oltrepò Mantovano, in Lombardy, far from the main tourist flows: a village tied to the river, the land, and its religious and peasant traditions, where festivals retain a genuine and communal spirit.

San Lorenzo Quingentole — edition 2026
