The feast of the patron saint of Quiliano at the Capuchin convent
In Quiliano, a town in the hinterland of the province of Savona, the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels is one of the most cherished events. The devotion, linked to the figure of Our Lady as the community's patron saint, is preserved and animated by the Capuchin friars at their convent.
The celebration is preceded by the novena, with the rosary and evening Mass each day. In the days leading up to August 2nd, significant moments unfold: missionary testimonies from friars from Africa, a children's festival with consecration to Our Lady and balloon release, and solemn Masses presided over by the bishop.
On the feast day, August 2nd, morning Masses, vespers with Eucharistic blessing, and an evening Mass accompanied by vocal ensembles take place. The program concludes with moments of conviviality and concerts, such as the one by the band "Rumpe e Streppa" from Finale Ligure. A festival that intertwines spirituality, tradition, and community life in the hinterland of Savona.
For 2026, the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels is expected on August 2nd, the day of Quiliano's patron saint. The occasion is preceded by the novena with the rosary and evening Mass at 8:45 PM. The usual program includes missionary moments, a children's festival with consecration to Our Lady, solemn Masses, and evening concerts. The detailed schedule will be announced by the Capuchin friars closer to the event.
By car: A10 motorway exit Savona or Vado Ligure, then towards Quiliano. By train: Savona station, then bus towards the hinterland.
Celebrations and events are free admission.
