The patronal feast of Boffalora d'Adda, with solemn Mass, procession, and food stalls.
The Patronal Feast of the Nativity of Mary is the most cherished festival in Boffalora d'Adda, a small municipality in the Province of Lodi, in the lower Lombardy region along the Adda River. The town's patron saint is the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrated on the first Sunday of September: an annual event that blends faith, popular tradition, and community celebration.
The heart of the festival is the solemn Holy Mass in honor of the Nativity of Mary, celebrated in the parish church of Boffalora d'Adda, followed by the traditional procession through the village streets. It is the moment when the entire community gathers around its patron saint.
Alongside the religious celebrations, the festival comes alive with its popular side: food stalls with typical dishes and traditional local sweets, live music and evening entertainment in the square, games and activities for children, stalls, and markets. The festival is organized by the Pro Loco of Boffalora d'Adda in collaboration with the Municipality, with the recurring theme "Tradition, Taste, and Celebration!"
The 2026 Patronal Feast of the Nativity of Mary in Boffalora d'Adda maintains its traditional placement on the first Sunday of September, around September 6th.
The program, curated by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Municipality, includes the solemn Holy Mass in the parish church, the procession through the village streets, and the popular part with food stalls, traditional sweets, live music, and evening entertainment in the square.
The detailed 2026 program will be published by the Pro Loco in the weeks preceding the event. Based on the traditional structure, the following are planned:
