The Red Arrow returns to the city of Nuvolari
The 1000 Miglia is the most famous automotive re-enactment in the world, heir to the legendary speed race held between 1927 and 1957. Today it is a regularity race for historic cars that retraces the Brescia-Rome-Brescia route. After a three-year absence, in 2026 the Red Arrow returns to cross Mantua, to the great satisfaction of the city and enthusiasts.
On June 13, 2026, the more than four hundred vintage cars arrive in Mantua coming from Ferrara and Castel d'Ario, the homeland of the legendary driver Tazio Nuvolari. The procession enters the city via Ponte San Giorgio, reaches Piazza Sordello passing in front of the Castello di San Giorgio and the Palazzo Ducale, and then heads towards Palazzo Te, where a lunch stop is planned in the Fruttiere with a visit to Giulio Romano's masterpiece.
The passage of the 1000 Miglia is an event of strong popular appeal: thousands of people gather along the route and in the squares to admire the historic cars. The race is accompanied by the 1000 Miglia Green, reserved for electric cars, and by the Ferrari Tribute, a parade of the Prancing Horse cars. An opportunity to celebrate the history of motoring and, at the same time, the monumental beauty of Mantua.
Mantua (Province of Mantua) has a deep connection with the history of motoring: Tazio Nuvolari, one of the greatest drivers of all time, was born in Castel d'Ario, a few kilometers from the provincial capital. The passage of the 1000 Miglia strengthens this bond, bringing the charm of the great races of the twentieth century to the city.
