Street food, open-air taverns and music on the Mantua lakefront
The Antica Fiera dei Mangiari is one of Mantua's most beloved summer events: a grand gastronomic festival held on the Lungolago Gonzaga, in the stretch between Porto Catena and the Castello di San Giorgio. Sponsored by the Municipality of Mantua, it has reached its fourteenth edition, confirming itself as a classic of the city's summer.
For eleven consecutive evenings, the lakefront fills with open-air taverns, osterie, and street food stalls. Offerings range from traditional Mantuan dishes to street food from all over Italy, in a convivial atmosphere that invites you to stroll among the stalls, stop for dinner, and continue the evening with an aperitif or dancing.
The fair is not just about food: every evening features live music, DJ sets, and an area dedicated to Latin music (the Latin Village) accompanying dinner. Three different entertainment zones allow you to choose your preferred atmosphere, from concerts to dancing, in a scenic setting overlooking the lakes that surround the city.
Overlooking the three lakes formed by the Mincio River, Mantua (Province of Mantua) finds one of its most evocative locations on the lakefront. The Antica Fiera dei Mangiari highlights this waterside setting, offering the city a large space for popular celebration just a stone's throw from the historic center.
From June 11 to 21, 2026, the Lungolago Gonzaga in Mantua hosts the 14th edition of the Antica Fiera dei Mangiari. For eleven evenings, from 6 PM until late at night, the lakefront transforms into a large village of taste with open-air taverns and street food stalls.
Three entertainment areas offer live music, DJ sets, and a Latin Village dedicated to Latin music every evening. Admission is free.
