A night in the heart of Latin America with Colectivo 73
Pasión Popular is the new show by Colectivo 73, an ensemble considered one of the most appreciated musical groups in Emilia-Romagna for their research and dissemination of South American folk music. The event is scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2026, at 9:00 PM, at the Open-Air Theatre of Poggio Berni, in the Municipality of Poggio Torriana, in the province of Rimini. A night that takes the audience into the heart of Latin America, with live music, dance, and collective participation.
The show is an authentic sound journey that traverses the entire Latin American continent. From the Argentinian chacarera to the Uruguayan candombe, from the Venezuelan joropo to the Mexican son jarocho, to Andean sounds like huayno and carnavalito, not forgetting tango, milonga, cumbia, and son cubano. A repertoire that tells the history, culture, and folk songs of Latin America through its most emblematic protagonists.
The project is led by singer-songwriter and music researcher Andrea Pari, an interpreter of Latin American folk song. On stage, he is accompanied by an ensemble of expert musicians: Elisa De Carli on vocals, Fernando "El Indio" González on Andean winds and percussion, Francesco Cilio on charango and guitar, Alejandro Fuentes on piano, and Matteo Salvatori on percussion. The group reproduces Andean sounds with typical instruments such as quena, zampoña, charango, bichito cordobés, and bombo legüero. The evening is enhanced by live drawings by Massimo Modula, projected in real-time during the show, and the announced presence of international guests.
Pasión Popular is not just a concert: it's an invitation to dance and participate. The evening combines live performance with the conviviality of Romagna tradition, thanks to the Mussel Festival on the Hill organized by the Pro Loco of Poggio Berni, with its food stand that makes the atmosphere even more festive. A typical combination of Emilia-Romagna summers, where the stage meets the table and the village festival.
The Open-Air Theatre of Poggio Berni is a stage set amidst the hills of the Rimini hinterland, an ideal setting for summer evenings. Poggio Torriana, born from the merger of the municipalities of Poggio Berni and Torriana, is one of Emilia-Romagna's destinations that combines hilly landscapes, food and wine tradition, and a lively summer cultural program.
