The jazz and swing festival in Altofonte, just outside Palermo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Parco Jazz is a music festival held in the heart of summer in Altofonte, a town of about ten thousand residents nestled at the foot of the Montagna Grande in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, Sicily. Created to bring the great tradition of jazz and swing to an intimate, community-focused setting, the festival is organized by the "Parco" Musical Association under the patronage of the Municipality of Altofonte and the Metropolitan City of Palermo.
The festival follows a well-established format: three consecutive evenings in July featuring free open-air concerts. The program ranges from intimate, sophisticated classic jazz to rhythmic, high-energy swing, including original works by Sicilian musicians. Each night showcases a different lineup, from instrumental ensembles to vocal projects inspired by the Great American Songbook, balancing tributes to the masters of the genre with contemporary influences.
More than just a concert series, Parco Jazz has become a gathering point for the Altofonte community and visitors from neighboring towns. The evenings take place in open spaces within the town center, just a stone's throw from Piazza Falcone e Borsellino, in an informal and friendly atmosphere that makes jazz accessible even to newcomers. Free admission and high-quality musical performances have made it one of the most appreciated summer events in the region.
Located on the road leading from Palermo toward the interior, Altofonte is an ideal destination for those looking to combine music with local exploration: from the nearby Bosco della Ficuzza to the food and wine excellence of the Palermo mountains. Attending an evening at Parco Jazz also means experiencing the authentic Sicilian hospitality of a small town that has chosen musical culture as the hallmark of its summer.
The dates for the 2026 edition of Parco Jazz have not yet been announced. In previous years, the festival has taken place in July in Altofonte (Metropolitan City of Palermo), featuring three consecutive evenings of free concerts dedicated to jazz and swing. The detailed program and the artists for the upcoming edition will be announced by the "Parco" Musical Association later in the season. This page will be updated as soon as official information becomes available.
The evenings take place in Altofonte (PA), typically at the Campetto Chiesa on Via Lanuzza, just a short walk from Piazza Falcone e Borsellino. In some editions, the festival has also been hosted at Parco Robinson and the Obelisco area.
By car: From Palermo, you can reach Altofonte in about 20-25 minutes via the SS624 (Palermo-Sciacca), taking the Altofonte exit. The nearest airport is Palermo "Falcone Borsellino" (Punta Raisi), about 45 minutes away.
Concerts are free to attend until capacity is reached and typically begin in the evening around 9:30 PM. Arriving early is recommended to secure a seat.
