Over a century of history
The Ottava Festival is a true institution in Monteviale, a small municipality in the province of Vicenza. With its 117th edition in 2026, it is among the oldest and most beloved festivals in the Vicenza area, an event passed down from generation to generation since the early 1900s.
The tradition of the Octave of Easter
The name of the festival derives from the Octave of Easter, the eighth day after Easter Sunday: once it was the occasion when rural communities closed their Easter celebrations with a great convivial moment. In Monteviale, this tradition has transformed into a festival that today extends over two weekends in April.
Pork roast, music, and fun
The main dish is roast pork on a spit, the undisputed queen of the food stand managed by the Pro Loco Monteviale. Around the food, there is the Luna Park, evenings of music and dancing, and comedy shows. Among the most anticipated events is the tribute to Vasco Rossi by the Diapason Band. A festival that perfectly captures the convivial and popular spirit of this corner of the Vicenza area, where tradition is renewed every spring at the A. Marini Sports Field.
Ottava Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, the 117th, confirms the long tradition of the Ottava Festival with its two weekends of celebration. At the A. Marini Sports Field, the spit-roasted pork, Luna Park, and the music and comedy evenings organized by the Pro Loco Monteviale return.

How to get there
Monteviale is located about 8 km west of Vicenza. By car: from the A4 motorway, exit at Vicenza Ovest, then a few kilometers towards the hills. The festival is held at the "A. Marini" Sports Field, Via G. Falcone 22.
