Two days of independent music and experimentation in L'Aquila
Orbeat Festival is one of the freshest and most original music events in the Abruzzo region. Organized by the Orbeat Collective, a group of young enthusiasts passionate about independent music and culture, the event takes place in the city of L'Aquila, the capital of the Abruzzo region, and offers two days entirely dedicated to contemporary sounds and artistic experimentation.
The Orbeat Festival program is designed for those who love to venture off the beaten path: the festival showcases local, national, and international musical projects, ranging from indie rock and alternative to fusion, electronica, psychedelia, and dance. The hallmark of the event is curiosity: each edition is a short journey into the most interesting independent music scenes of the moment.
Orbeat is not just a live music festival. The program also includes talks on cultural and social themes, a podcast, and various side activities—from pilates sessions to exhibition spaces—designed to enrich the audience's experience and turn the festival into a moment of connection and sharing. It is a way to experience L'Aquila in a more creative and participatory light, highlighting unique urban spaces in the city.
Following its 2025 debut at the municipal swimming pool solarium, Orbeat Festival has expanded its footprint, moving to a larger area at the Tecnopolo d'Abruzzo. The event is part of L'Aquila's cultural rebirth and serves as a landmark for the alternative music scene in the Province of L'Aquila and the entire Abruzzo region, offering local young artists a stage shared with established names from the Italian and European independent circuit.
The second edition of Orbeat Festival takes place on July 10 and 11, 2026, at Piazzale Sandro Pertini (formerly Piazzale Italtel), within the Tecnopolo d'Abruzzo in L'Aquila. The lineup features fifteen musical projects, including local, national, and international artists, with a journey spanning indie rock, alternative, fusion, electronica, psychedelia, and dance.
On Friday, July 10, with doors opening at 5:00 PM, the stage will feature Metonimia, Inépi, Giovanni Ti Amo, Irossa, The Tangram, Management del Dolore Post-Operatorio, and Paul Lution. On Saturday, July 11, starting at 4:00 PM, it's the turn of Enrichetto, Muffa, Hate Moss, Core Mato, Altea, C'Mon Tigre, Dame Area, and Passarani.
In addition to the concerts, the program includes talks, a podcast, and side activities such as pilates. Shuttle services from various points in the city will be active.
