A night to open the university to the city
Open Night and Day Roma Tre is the event where Roma Tre University throws open the doors of its campuses in the heart of the Ostiense district in Rome, in the Lazio region. The initiative stems from the merger of two historic university events, Roma Tre Open Night and Orientarsi a Roma Tre, combined into one grand day that weaves together academic orientation, scientific outreach, and culture. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with free admission.
Finding a home in Ostiense
Activities take place across two locations overlooking Via Ostiense: the Rectorate (Via Ostiense 133) and the Department of Law (Via Ostiense 163). The event is designed for a wide audience: high school students looking for the right course, as well as families, teachers, guidance counselors, and curious citizens. Attendees can engage directly with professors, tutors, students, and university alumni.
Orientation and academic programs
The daytime program focuses on presentations of the 2026/2027 academic offerings from the thirteen departments—ranging from Law to Engineering, Economics to Languages, and Architecture to Political Science—with dedicated sessions in the Law department lecture halls. At the Rectorate, student office booths, university services, personalized consultations with the Orientation Office, and pre-enrollment assistance remain available throughout the event. There are also entrance exam simulations, which are highly useful for preparing for upcoming tests.
Research shared with the public
As evening falls, the event transforms into a celebration of knowledge. Dozens of teaching and research booths animate the ground and second floors of the Rectorate with experiments, interactive workshops, and activities designed for children: soap bubbles and math games, a planetarium and virtual reality, robotics and aeronautical propulsion, cosmetics labs, and scientific gastronomy, alongside immersive journeys into architecture and artificial intelligence. In parallel, there are seminars and brief talks on astronomy, physics, art history, languages, and public history, accompanied by live music featuring the Roma Tre Jazz Band, a classical duo, and concerts by the Pantaband.
A bridge between university and territory
As Rector Massimiliano Fiorucci emphasizes, Open Night and Day is an opportunity to strengthen the bond between the university, the city, and the new generations. For those who need it, certification for School-Work Training and/or orientation hours is available: by registering on the dedicated platform and scanning at least ten QR codes along the activity route, participants receive a certificate of attendance. It is a practical way to turn an evening of curiosity into a step toward choosing a university path.

The first unified edition of Open Night and Day brought together the two events Roma Tre Open Night and Orientarsi a Roma Tre into a single day. From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Law department classrooms hosted presentations of the academic offerings of the thirteen departments, while at the Rectorate, booths, university services, orientation consultations, and entrance exam simulations remained active until late in the evening. After dark, dozens of research booths, seminars, brief talks, and live music performances turned Ostiense into a grand celebration of knowledge open to the city.
