Seventeen days of beer, local district festivals, and live music in Torrice, in the heart of the Ciociaria region.
The Oktonifest - Beer Festival is one of the most anticipated and vibrant summer events in the Valle del Sacco. For over two weeks, from July 1st to 17th, the town of Torrice, a hillside village in the province of Frosinone, comes alive every evening with flowing beer, traditional cuisine, live music, and activities for all ages. The name plays on the Bavarian Oktoberfest, but the formula here is entirely local: beer is served at popular prices—a 0.30 cl mug for just 2 euros throughout the festival—and instead of sausages and pretzels, you will find the most genuine dishes of the rural Lazio tradition.
The gastronomic heart of Oktonifest is entrusted to the districts of Torrice, which take turns preparing and serving their specialties in a series of festivals within the festival. The calendar features the Meatball Sandwich Festival, the Stuffed Fried Pizza Festival, the Pasta e Fagioli Festival, the Polenta with Sausage Sauce Festival organized by the Tufare district, the Gnocchi Festival by the Fontanelle and Colle San Pietro districts, and the Fini Fini with Sauce Festival by the Cervona district. Fini fini, thin hand-rolled fettuccine served with Sunday-style sauce, are a symbol of Ciociarian cuisine: tasting them in the square, among long tables and folk music, is the best way to understand the soul of this land.
Every evening features a lively stage: the typical Oktonifest edition alternates between piano bar shows and performances by groups like the Brigallè, dance school evenings, acoustic sets, folk groups like Gli Amici dell'Organetto, and popular music bands. The highlight is the tribute night: in 2026, the Ligaday, a tribute to Luciano Ligabue, drew a massive crowd. Dance nights with local orchestras and bands round out a program designed to keep entire families dancing until late at night.
Alongside beer and food, Oktonifest also reserves space for motors, with tuning car meets that transform the town into a small open-air showroom, car audio exhibitions, and entertainment for children and teenagers. Entry is always free, and the festival is organized to accommodate those with specific dietary needs, with gluten-free drinks available at the stands.
Perched on a hill a few kilometers from Frosinone, Torrice is a typical village of the Ciociaria, a land of rural traditions, accordions, and honest cuisine. The July festival is when the community shows its best: the districts mobilize, the squares fill with long tables, and the Ciociarian hospitality is palpable. For those visiting Lazio away from the beaten tourist paths, Oktonifest is an authentic opportunity to discover a real town, its people, and its flavors.
With its formula combining affordable beer, district festivals, concerts, and car meets, Oktonifest has secured a permanent spot on the calendar of summer events in the province of Frosinone. An event that attracts visitors from all over the Valle del Sacco and the rest of the region every year, confirming Torrice as one of the capitals of Ciociarian conviviality.
The 2026 edition of the Oktonifest - Beer Festival brings Torrice, in the province of Frosinone, to life from July 1st to 17th: the longest and richest program in the Valle del Sacco, with affordable beer throughout the festival and a calendar alternating between district festivals, live music, and motor rallies.
It kicks off on Wednesday, July 1st, with a live show by the Brigallè; followed by tuning car meets on July 2nd and 3rd, the Meatball Sandwich Festival (July 4th), and the Stuffed Fried Pizza Festival (July 5th). The second week heats up with Ligaday, a Luciano Ligabue tribute band, on Wednesday, July 8th, and the major district festivals: pasta e fagioli, polenta with sausage sauce by the Tufare district, gnocchi by the Fontanelle and Colle San Pietro districts, and fini fini with sauce by the Cervona district, featuring a concert by Daniele Pullo and his band. The program for the final days, from July 13th to 17th, will be announced by the organizers on the festival's official channels.
Torrice is located in the province of Frosinone, in southern Lazio. By car: A1 Rome-Naples motorway, Frosinone exit, then follow signs for Torrice; alternatively, take Via Casilina. The nearest train station is Frosinone, on the Rome-Cassino-Naples line, about 10 km from the town.
Free entry every evening. Heineken beer at 2 euros for a 0.30 cl mug for the entire duration of the festival; festival dishes at popular prices. Gluten-free drinks are available.
The weekend gastronomic festival nights are the most crowded: it is advisable to arrive early to find a seat at the tables. Parking is available in the areas on the outskirts of the town center.
