NovaraJazz comes to Oleggio

NovaraJazz is one of Italy's most renowned jazz festivals: every year, between late May and early June, it transforms Novara and the towns of its province, in Piedmont, into a vast, widespread stage. For the 2026 edition, the festival also stops in Oleggio, a municipality in the Province of Novara, where the Soul Bar hosts one of the events of the opening weekend, dedicated to concerts distributed throughout the territory.

Taurn, beyond the boundaries of jazz

The stars of the evening are Taurn, a group born from the vibrant Bologna underground scene that moves well beyond the traditional boundaries of jazz—assuming jazz can have rigidly established boundaries at all. Their music weaves together research, improvisation, and sonic contamination, perfectly in line with the festival's vocation, which has always been attentive to new voices and experimental musical languages.

A widespread festival between city and province

NovaraJazz is not confined to a single location: alongside the festival's urban heart, the event brings music to vineyards, historic villas, castles, and local venues in the villages of the Novara area. During the same weekend, concerts reach Romagnano Sesia, Maggiora, Cameri, and Cavagliano, in an itinerary that combines musical quality with the discovery of the Terre del Riso (Rice Lands) region. The concert at the Soul Bar in Oleggio represents the most informal and nocturnal side of this offering, in a club atmosphere that perfectly suits the sound of Taurn.

The festival in brief

Now in its 23rd edition, NovaraJazz takes place from May 29 to June 7, 2026, and is organized by the Rest-Art Cultural Association, under the artistic direction of Corrado Beldì and with the support of the Municipality of Novara, the Province, and local cultural entities. The formula combines concerts, street bands, guided tours, and cycling routes through the rice paddies, envisioning the festival as a travel experience.
