The night of Salento wine among the squares and alleys of Galatina
NotteDiVini – Notes in the Old Town is the food and wine event that every year, at the beginning of June, turns the historic center of Galatina, in the province of Lecce, into a grand open-air cultural lounge. The most picturesque squares and alleys of the Salento village fill with tasting stands, musical notes, and authentic flavors, in a stroll that combines Apulian winemaking excellence with the city's architectural beauty.
The heart of the event is the tasting trail: fifteen local wineries offer over forty-five types of wine, served in tritan glasses by professional sommeliers from the Italian Sommelier Association. With glasses around their necks, visitors traverse Galatina's historic center, moving from one station to another to discover the best reds, whites, and rosés of Salento.
Along the route, numerous stages and musical corners alternate with offerings of every genre: from jazz to pop, from rock to Caribbean music, and from Salento folk music to soul. There is no shortage of cabaret shows that enliven the alleys and squares with guests well-known to the general television public, including faces from Striscia la Notizia and Zelig, who perform by surprise among the crowd.
Among the most appreciated offerings is the Bacchus guided tasting workshop, dedicated to pairing typical local sweets with wines from the participating wineries. The workshop is led by AIS Lecce sommeliers together with Galatina pastry chefs, with the collaboration of teachers and students from the "Egidio Lanoce" Hotel Management Institute of Otranto, for a sensory journey that recounts the confectionery tradition of Salento.
NotteDiVini is organized by the A.P.S. Quelli del Centro Storico di Galatina with the patronage of the Municipality of Galatina, the Lecce Chamber of Commerce, and the main trade associations (Confartigianato, Confcommercio, and Confesercenti Lecce). The event was created with the goal of enhancing the historical and productive heritage of the territory through a sensory experience that intertwines wine, music, and conviviality. Admission is free and the event takes place over a single evening, from sunset until late at night.
The fourth edition of NotteDiVini – Notes in the Old Town was held on Monday, June 1st, 2026, in Galatina, on the eve of the Republic Day. From 8:30 PM, the historic center transformed into a tasting route with fifteen local wineries and over forty-five types of wine, served in tritan glasses by sommeliers from the Italian Sommelier Association.
The evening intertwined live music, cabaret, and food and wine culture, with Piazza San Pietro as one of the event's hubs. The event, with free admission, was organized by the A.P.S. Quelli del Centro Storico di Galatina with the patronage of the Municipality of Galatina and the Lecce Chamber of Commerce.
