When sport invades the squares

For one evening, usually in the first week of June, the center of Carate Brianza, in the province of Monza and Brianza, changes its face: the Notte Bianca dello Sport e del Commercio arrives, an event that brings local sports associations and city shops to the streets, in a festival that lasts until late evening.

A center that becomes an open-air gym

Streets and squares are transformed into spaces to try and see dozens of disciplines in action. Recent editions have featured basketball and volleyball courts, a climbing wall, martial arts demonstrations, crossfit, tennis, artistic gymnastics, handbiking, country and group dance performances, a driving introduction course, archery trials, a human foosball table, and many games for the little ones. An opportunity to discover Carate's many sports realities and perhaps decide to sign up.

The shops take center stage

Alongside sport, the other soul of the evening is commerce: downtown shopkeepers, with the collaboration of Confcommercio Carate, stay open until late in the evening, animating the streets with displays, stalls, and initiatives. It's the classic "white night" formula, combining evening shopping, strolling, and entertainment.

A community festival

Organized by the Municipality of Carate Brianza together with shopkeepers and sports associations, the Notte Bianca dello Sport e del Commercio is one of the events that best showcases the vitality of this Brianza town: sport, social life, and village life merge into an evening designed for families, young people, and enthusiasts.
