The Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Canzo, between a concert in the villa and music along the trails
Note nell'aria is a project by the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, supported by Regione Lombardia and in collaboration with the Municipality of Canzo, in the Province of Como. The idea is to bring the ensembles of the renowned Milanese school to unexpected locations in the Larian area, fostering a dialogue between classical music and the landscape of the Larian Triangle.
The weekend opens with a concert by the Accademia Orchestra in the charming 18th-century courtyard of Villa Meda, in the center of Canzo. The following day, the music moves outdoors: a trekking tour along the Geological Path of the Corni di Canzo, guided by experts, during which some stops become natural stages where the orchestra's soloists perform pieces designed to blend with the sounds of nature.
A village of about four thousand inhabitants, Canzo is one of the gateways to the Larian Triangle, the area that extends between the two branches of Lake Como. With its Corni (peaks) and geological trails, it provides the ideal backdrop for an event that intertwines musical heritage and natural heritage, offering an experience different from the usual concert hall performance.
In Canzo, Province of Como, "Note nell'aria" 2026 offers two events by the Accademia Teatro alla Scala between May 31 and June 1, featuring a concert in the villa and a musical excursion.
Courtyard of Villa Meda, Canzo (CO), for the concert; Geological Path of the Corni di Canzo for the musical trekking.
Canzo is served by the Milan-Asso railway line (Canzo-Asso station) and is reachable by car from the Statale Lariana road.
For the trekking day, hiking shoes, a windbreaker, and a water bottle are recommended.
