About Note in Città

Note in Città is Velletri's premier festival for budding musicians: a one-night event launched in 2026 to showcase young talent and local music schools from the Castelli Romani area. On Friday, July 3, 2026, the newly renovated Piazza Cairoli, in the heart of the historic center, hosted over thirty bands and young performers, ranging from traditional organetto players to pop artists, in a grand free celebration organized by the Pro Loco Velitrae APS in collaboration with the Municipality of Velletri.

A stage for budding musicians

Note in Città is Velletri's new musical endeavor: a festival entirely dedicated to the region's young talent, established in the summer of 2026 with the clear goal of providing an exceptional showcase for the next generation of artists. The inaugural edition took place on Friday, July 3, 2026, in the renovated setting of Piazza Cairoli, in the heart of Velletri's historic center, which was transformed for one night into a true stage under the stars.

The Pro Loco Velitrae project

The festival is an original project by Pro Loco Velitrae APS, created in partnership with the Municipality of Velletri and supported by the local administration as part of their efforts to enhance the city's image. The idea is as simple as it is valuable: to highlight young musicians and the numerous local music schools by giving them a prestigious stage and a real audience, while simultaneously enlivening the historic center with live music. Technical and artistic contributions to the event's success were provided by figures such as Maestro Francesco Mollica, alongside the Pro Loco volunteers.

Over thirty young artists on stage

The first edition brought more than thirty musicians, bands, and young performers from Velletri and the Castelli Romani area to the square. A diverse range of projects and names took to the stage, showcasing the musical vitality of the region:

  • the JF Band and emerging groups EBB'N Flow and Squarcio X;
  • Emanuele Vicario, a young organetto virtuoso already recognized for his talent;
  • Gioele Petrella, a fifteen-year-old named Alfiere della Repubblica, a symbol of music and inclusion;
  • dozens of students and soloists from Velletri's music schools, including vocalists, instrumentalists, and youth bands.

The result was a mosaic of genres spanning from pop to light music, and from traditional folk to the sounds of the new generation.

Velletri, a city of music in the Castelli Romani

Velletri, a municipality within the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital in the Lazio Region, is one of the historic capitals of the Castelli Romani: a city of wine and porchetta, but also a city of bands, choirs, and music schools with a long-standing tradition. Note in Città fits naturally into this identity, turning the main square, a hub for evening strolls, into a meeting place for generations, where families and the community can see their own youth in the spotlight.

In the heart of the Velletri summer

The festival debuted during one of the liveliest moments of the Velletri summer: just days after the Beer & Pizza Festival and the Velletri Buskers Circus, and on the eve of the Notte Bianca on July 4. This strategic timing allowed Note in Città to reach a wide and curious audience, offering great promise for future editions of this young, free-entry event.

Note in Città — edition 2026

The first edition of Note in Città took place on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Piazza Cairoli, in the historic center of Velletri. Over thirty musicians, bands, and young local performers took to the stage from 8:00 PM, in a free-entry evening organized by Pro Loco Velitrae APS and the Municipality of Velletri to showcase emerging talent and the music schools of the Castelli Romani.

The debut of Note in Città transformed Piazza Cairoli into an open-air stage dedicated to budding musicians. The evening, part of the Velletri summer program curated by Pro Loco Velitrae, followed the success of the Velletri Buskers Circus and the Beer & Pizza Festival, and served as a prelude to the Notte Bianca the following day.

More than thirty young artists performed on stage: from emerging bands like JF Band, EBB'N Flow, and Squarcio X to soloists from local music schools, as well as the organetto of Emanuele Vicario and fifteen-year-old Alfiere della Repubblica, Gioele Petrella. A free, inclusive celebration that confirmed the musical vitality of Velletri's new generation.
