A literary festival in the heart of Cisterna

Cisterna Libris - The Court of Books is the summer appointment with books and their authors held in Cisterna di Latina, in the province of Latina, Lazio. The festival transforms the courtyard of Palazzo Caetani into an open-air lounge where the public can meet writers, journalists, scholars, and well-known voices of the Italian cultural scene up close.

Conceived and organized by the Fondazione De Cultura in collaboration with the local Mondadori Bookstore, the event is part of a wider network of "Libris" initiatives spread across the municipalities of lower Lazio and the Castelli Romani, all sharing the same format of author encounters.

A program spanning fiction, current affairs, and society

Each edition offers a journey that ranges from fiction to contemporary history, from legality to politics, and from cinema to major current events. The meetings are designed as opportunities for direct dialogue: after the presentation, authors engage with the audience, answer questions, and sign copies of their books. It is a simple and informal way to bring readers of all ages closer to the written word.

A free event open to all

All Cisterna Libris events are free and open to the public, with the patronage of the Municipality of Cisterna di Latina, the Lazio Region, and Arsial. The festival is spread across the summer months, from July to September, with scheduled evenings that mark the city's cultural calendar and make it a reference point for readers and enthusiasts from across the province of Latina.
