About Nostrano Artichoke Festival

In the small hamlet of Filetto, on the outskirts of Senigallia, the local artichoke becomes the absolute star every spring of a historic and beloved festival. Artichoke tagliatelle, fried artichokes, omelets, meat and fish main courses: three evenings (plus Sunday lunch by reservation) to savor traditional Marche cuisine in a genuine village atmosphere, with food stalls, popular games, and plenty of conviviality. An event of taste and tradition organized by the Circolo A.C.L.I. of Filetto.

The festival celebrating Filetto's artichoke

The Nostrano Artichoke Festival is one of the most cherished spring food festivals in the territory of Senigallia, in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. It takes place in the small hamlet of Filetto, where for decades the cultivation of artichokes has been part of the local peasant identity. For three days, the village transforms into a meeting point for flavors, memories, and fun, attracting visitors from all over the Vallesina and the Conero Riviera each year.

The local artichoke takes center stage on the table

The heart of the festival is the food: the stalls offer a menu entirely built around the local artichoke, presented in first courses, main courses, side dishes, and even more creative versions. Among the dishes you can find year after year are:

  • Artichoke tagliatelle and other homemade pasta dishes like lasagna, artichoke and clam gnocchi, and passatelli;
  • Stuffed artichokes, artichoke omelets, pork loin, and fish main courses like artichoke cuttlefish;
  • Fried artichokes and artichoke salad as side dishes;
  • traditional desserts to finish the meal.

Everything is prepared by the volunteers of the Circolo A.C.L.I. of Filetto, who animate the event every year with passion and community spirit.

Not just food: games and conviviality

Alongside the food stalls, the festival keeps alive the spirit of a village celebration: popular games like the Wheel of Fortune, the Bottle Cap game, and other pastimes designed for adults and children make the evenings enjoyable for the whole family. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming, typical of Marche festivals, where people sit at covered tables and chat between courses.

A tradition renewed every spring

Entering its 29th edition in 2026, the Nostrano Artichoke Festival is now a classic of the Senigallia spring calendar. It represents an opportunity to rediscover a simple and genuine product of the Marche land and to support the community life of a small hamlet that, precisely thanks to this event, rediscovers its community vocation every year.
