The boutique festival of global sounds in the monumental garden of Villa Tasca, Palermo
The Nomad Music Festival is one of the most original additions to the summer music scene in the Sicilian capital. Conceived as a boutique festival with a refined and eclectic program, it brings a lineup spanning house, disco, funk, boogie, afrobeat, cumbia, highlife, jazz, and tropical sounds to the monumental park of Villa Tasca in Palermo (Province of Palermo, Sicily), alternating international names with local artists.
The setting is Villa Tasca, a neoclassical residence surrounded by an eight-hectare historic park filled with monumental trees, ancient palms, and tropical plants. With comfortable seating and lush green corners, the garden transforms into an open-air stage where music engages with the botanical landscape, returning a vibrant, shared cultural space to the city.
Artistic director Gabriele Giannetto crafts each day as a sonic journey: starting with sophisticated selections rooted in jazz and black music, building up to DJ sets and live performances that keep the crowd dancing until late. The festival's signature is cross-pollination: world music, tropical rhythms, club culture, and organic sounds coexist throughout the evening.
Now in its early editions, the Nomad Music Festival has carved out a distinct place in Palermo's summer calendar, attracting an audience that appreciates global sounds and high-quality programming. Held between June and July, the event enriches the city's summer with an experience that blends music, nature, and social connection in one of its most evocative locations.
The fourth edition of the Nomad Music Festival takes place at Villa Tasca in Palermo over two Sundays: July 5 and 12, 2026, from 5 PM until midnight. Under the artistic direction of Gabriele Giannetto, the festival offers a journey through house, disco, funk, boogie, afro-funk, and organic live sets.
Opening with Bjondo, exploring jazz and black roots, and the Collettivo La Scoteca with an improvisation-based live set; followed by the Dutch group Another Taste, with an analog sound blending funk, boogie, and underground disco, a DJ set by CSS (Gabriele Giannetto), and closing with Antal, featuring house, afro-funk, and rare grooves.
The second day features V. Allotta, Chris Obehi, Esa's Afro-Synth Band with their South African tradition of synths and percussion, CSS again, and headliner, the internationally renowned Korean DJ Hunee.
