The international short film festival in the heart of the Murgia region near Bari
The Noci Film Fest – International Short Film Festival is an annual summer event that brings the world of short cinema to the historic center of Noci, in the province of Bari, deep in the heart of the Apulian Murgia. Originally launched as NociCortinfestival and having grown with every edition, the festival has become a benchmark for auteur short films in Puglia, seamlessly weaving together international screenings, professional training, and live performances.
For a few days, Noci turns into an open-air workshop: screenings, meetings, and concerts take place in the town's most beautiful spots, from Piazza Plebiscito to the Municipal Amphitheater, and from the gardens of Via Tommaso Fiore to the Piazzetta dei Leoni. It is a unique way to bring the historic center to life, guiding the audience from one space to another as they follow the narrative threads unfolding on screen.
The heart of the festival is its international short film competition, which brings selected works from all over the world to Noci, accompanied by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers. Alongside the competition is TagliaCorto, a training campus for teams of young filmmakers from across Italy: over the course of a week, participants write, shoot, and edit a six-minute short film under the guidance of tutors and industry professionals.
More than just a film showcase, Noci Film Fest is a cultural project that highlights young filmmakers and their connection to the local area. The award-winning stories often explore themes of identity, memory, and community, making the festival a space to reflect on the present through the eyes of a new generation of creators. The event is organized by the Nocicinema APS association with the support of the Puglia Region, the Ministry of Culture, SIAE, and the Municipality of Noci.
With free admission to most events, Noci Film Fest is an experience open to everyone: cinephiles, curious visitors, families, and travelers looking to discover an authentic corner of Puglia while enjoying great cinema, good music, and the magical atmosphere of summer evenings in the Murgia.
The 13th edition of Noci Film Fest enlivens the historic center of Noci from July 27 to August 1, 2026, transforming the town into a widespread laboratory of cinema, culture, and creativity. The program includes the international short film competition, the TagliaCorto training campus, industry workshops, meetings with authors, and live evening performances. The 2026 edition is dedicated to themes of identity, memory, and community, told through the eyes of the new generation of authors.
Throughout the festival, from July 27 to August 1, screenings of competitive short films from around the world will take place, accompanied by Q&A sessions and debates in the most evocative spots of Noci (Piazza Plebiscito, Municipal Amphitheater, Via Tommaso Fiore gardens, Piazzetta dei Leoni).
The TagliaCorto campus brings together teams of young filmmakers from all over Italy, tasked with writing, shooting, and editing a six-minute short film in one week on the theme of identity, memory, and community. The first 20 registered teams receive free access to a camping area.
Training workshops and afternoon screenings complete the daily schedule. The detailed program is published on the official website www.nocifilmfest.it.
