A carnival that parades at night
The Night Carnival of Villafranca Padovana is an event with an unusual character: unlike traditional carnivals, the parade of allegorical floats takes place in the evening, when the illuminated floats cross the town in a spectacular atmosphere. The event is organized by the municipal administration together with the Pro Loco of Villafranca Padovana, a municipality in the province of Padua.
Family afternoon, evening of celebration
The day opens in the afternoon in Piazza Italia with a luna park, street food, and face painting for families and children. In the evening, the procession of floats begins, accompanied by masks, showbands, and the majorettes of the Gruppo Folk Veneto of Fossò, culminating in awards in the piazza.
The route through the heart of the town
The parade starts from Via Matteotti and winds along Via Campodoro, Via Verga, and Via Madonna, before entering Piazza Italia from Via del Santuario. For the occasion, the streets involved are temporarily closed to traffic, returning the center of Villafranca Padovana to the celebration.

The 2026 edition of the Night Carnival is confirmed for Saturday, March 14, 2026 in Villafranca Padovana. The afternoon in Piazza Italia opens at 3:00 PM with luna park, street food, and face painting for families. At 7:00 PM, the evening parade of allegorical floats begins, enlivened by masks, showbands, and the majorettes of the Gruppo Folk Veneto of Fossò, with final awards in the piazza. The parade route streets remain closed to traffic approximately from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
