New Year's Eve in the square of Aradeo

In Aradeo, a small town in the Province of Lecce in the heart of Salento, New Year's Eve is celebrated outdoors, together, in Piazza San Nicola. For several years, the Municipality of Aradeo has organized a large, completely free New Year's Eve concert event, which draws residents and visitors from many parts of Salento to the square to bid farewell to the passing year and welcome the new one.

A massive open-air stage

As evening falls, Piazza San Nicola lights up with colors and scenic effects, transforming into a true open-air stage. The well-established formula focuses on music and continuous entertainment: DJs, singers, dancers, and performers animate the square from 10:30 PM until the midnight countdown and beyond, amidst toasts, confetti, and contagious energy.

The 2026 New Year's Eve edition

To celebrate the arrival of 2026, on the evening of December 31, 2025, Piazza San Nicola hosted the Party Salento video show live: an original spectacle that recounts and brings to life the history of Italian and international music from the 70s to the present day, featuring original music videos and spectacular stage designs. On stage, DJs, VJs, hosts, singers, dancers, musicians, and performers brought a massive collective party to life, once again with free admission.

An event that grows year by year

The New Year's Eve celebration in the square is now a consolidated tradition for Aradeo. The previous edition, welcoming 2025, featured the overwhelming Kawabonga Party, a famous show consisting of explosive DJ sets, remixes, and mash-ups capable of blending all musical genres. Every year the square changes its protagonists but retains the same spirit: a free party, open to young people and families, designed to experience the last night of the year together.

Aradeo and Salento

Located just a few kilometers from Galatina and some of the most characteristic villages of the Salento area, Aradeo offers a simple and authentic way to experience New Year's Eve on this occasion: without tickets, outdoors, among the people. The public square party is part of the long Salento tradition of gathering in the historic center for major holidays, amidst folk music, lights, and conviviality.
