New Year's Eve in the heart of Bolzano

The New Year's Eve Festival, known in German as Silvesternacht, is the flagship event with which the capital of South Tyrol bids farewell to the old year and welcomes the new. Every December 31st, the beating heart of the celebration is Piazza della Vittoria (Siegesplatz), where the Municipality of Bolzano sets up a large stage, massive LED screens, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. Admission is free, and the square fills with thousands of people, including residents and visitors from across the Trentino-Alto Adige region.

Live music, street arts, and the midnight show

The program typically kicks off at 9:00 PM with a live concert featuring hits from yesterday and today, followed by street performers: acrobats, jugglers, stilt walkers, and LED performers animate the square with surprising acts suitable for all ages. The highlight is the midnight show, featuring light displays, lasers, exclusive videos projected on screens, and the grand collective toast to welcome the new year. Please note that Bolzano enforces a ban on private fireworks and firecrackers: the pyrotechnic display is replaced by spectacular light and sound choreography.

The party continues until dawn

After midnight, the celebration doesn't stop: music continues in the square with DJ sets and entertainment, while the Bolzano Exhibition Center (Fiera di Bolzano) hosts the after-party in Pavilion A, featuring a DJ line-up and dancing until the early hours of the morning. A free shuttle bus service connects the city center to the exhibition center, ensuring a safe way to reach the continued festivities.
