Genoa's Free New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve at the Old Port is now a well-established tradition for Genoa, the capital of Liguria: two evenings of music and entertainment with free admission organized by the Municipality of Genoa to accompany the city into the new year. The two-night format allows for a relaxed celebration, alternating between the dance floor by the sea and the main city square.
December 30th: Dance Floor by the Sea
The first evening takes place at Calata Falcone Borsellino, within the Old Port, where the open-air DJ set transforms the waterfront into a dance floor overlooking the water. A night designed for lovers of dance music who want to get the celebrations started early.
December 31st: The Big Concert in Piazza della Vittoria
On New Year's Eve, the heart of the celebration moves to Piazza della Vittoria, one of the city's largest and most symbolic squares, which hosts the New Year's Eve concert followed by the collective countdown and a party that continues well past midnight.
A City Celebrating
In addition to the concerts, Genoa's New Year's Eve is enhanced by special openings of museums and cultural sites, such as Palazzo Ducale, for those who wish to combine the celebration with the discovery of the city's heritage. It's a way to experience the turn of the year while soaking in the unique atmosphere of Genoa.

The 2026 edition of New Year's Eve at the Old Port offers two nights of free admission celebrations to welcome the New Year in Genoa. The program alternates the dance floor by the sea on December 30th with the big concert on New Year's Eve in Piazza della Vittoria, hosted by Serena Garitta and Samu Mara.
The party continues after midnight with the Genova 2026 Party and an electronic DJ set until 2:30 AM, for those who want to dance until late into the night in the heart of the city.

Getting There
The Old Port and Piazza della Vittoria are both within walking distance of the center and well-served by the AMT metro and buses. Road traffic modifications are expected on New Year's Eve: using public transport is recommended.
