The dawn concert on the Molo San Nicola in Trani
Imagine sitting in the dead of night, while darkness still envelops the harbor, and letting music guide you until the first ray of light. This is the promise that Nessun Dorma makes to its audience every summer: a dawn concert held on the Molo San Nicola in Trani, at the foot of the famous Faro Verde, in a location completely surrounded by the sea with the Romanesque Cathedral watching from the background. It is not just a performance, but a collective ritual where time seems to surrender to beauty.
The stars of the evening are Apulian pianists Alfonso Soldano and Giuseppe Greco, who make up the Duo Alborada. Both professors at the "Niccolรฒ Piccinni" Conservatory in Bari and the "Egidio Romualdo Duni" Conservatory in Matera respectively, the two musicians perform on two grand pianos, weaving their hands in a sonic dialogue that ranges from the great classical repertoire to the most famous film and contemporary series soundtracks. Guiding the audience through this journey are the texts introduced by actor and director Vito Lopriore, marking the moments from the night until dawn.
Nessun Dorma is the heart of the Armonie Naturali concert season, promoted by the Fondazione Aldo Ciccolini ETS in co-production with the Palazzo delle Arti Beltrani. The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Trani and holds the patronage of the Puglia Region, the Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, and other local entities, confirming how deeply rooted this event has become in the city's cultural identity.
In the town of Trani, in the heart of the Barletta-Andria-Trani province (Puglia), few experiences combine art and landscape like this concert. Attendees arrive while it is still night, share an open-air breakfast overlooking the harbor, and wait, note after note, for the light to settle on the sea. When the sun finally rises, the music reaches its climax: a finale designed to blend the emotion of listening with the natural spectacle of the Apulian dawn.
The fourth edition of Nessun Dorma will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, on the Molo San Nicola in Trani, at the foot of the Faro Verde. The event is part of the second season of Armonie Naturali, promoted by the Fondazione Aldo Ciccolini ETS in collaboration with the Palazzo delle Arti Beltrani. The public will be welcomed starting at 3:30 AM with an open-air breakfast, before the Duo Alborada's concert begins at 4:15 AM, accompanying the night until the sun rises over the sea.
