A day of slow tourism featuring culture, art, and music in the village of Raccuja
The Nebrodi Experience Festival is an event that, on the first day of summer, turns the small village of Raccujaโlocated in the heart of the Nebrodi Mountains in the province of Messinaโinto a vibrant space to explore, listen to, and experience firsthand. For an entire day, alleys, squares, and panoramic terraces become stops on a journey of culture, art, and movement.
The festival was created by Nebrodi Experience, a project promoting slow and mindful tourism. The slogan "Scroll less. Live more" encapsulates the initiative's philosophy: an invitation to put down smartphones, disconnect from screens, and immerse oneself in the genuine beauty of the land and its people. With its historical heritage and the landscape of the Nebrodi, Raccuja is the ideal place to experience a different, more authentic way of traveling.
The strength of the Nebrodi Experience Festival lies in its multi-stage format distributed throughout the village: from guided tours through historic alleys to creative workshops in the Municipal Auditorium, from sports sessions on the Silk Museum terrace to the food and wine area and the evening concert in Piazza del Popolo. Each moment highlights a different part of Raccuja, bringing together the local community, regional associations, and visitors.
The heart of the evening is music: the closing concert in Piazza del Popolo is linked to the "Note di Primavera" (Spring Notes) series, curated by the "Calogero Spanรฒ" Musical Band, while the Food & Beverage area offers typical flavors of the Sicilian hinterland. The result is a celebration that blends art, sport, gastronomy, and social life, designed to help residents and tourists alike rediscover the most authentic face of a Nebrodi village.
The 2026 edition of the Nebrodi Experience Festival brings Raccuja to life for an entire day, from afternoon to evening, with a widespread program that touches the most evocative spots of the Nebrodi village. Culture, art, sport, and gastronomy alternate until the grand musical finale in Piazza del Popolo, with the concert by Nello Analfino & T Orkestar closing the "Note di Primavera" series.
The festival takes place in June, on the first day of summer. The 2026 edition is scheduled for June 21, 2026, from the afternoon until the evening.
Raccuja (ME), a village in the Nebrodi Mountains. Activities are spread across the historic center's alleys, the Municipal Auditorium, the panoramic terrace of the Silk Museum, and Piazza del Popolo, which hosts the food and wine area and the evening concert.
Raccuja can be reached by car via the A20 Messina-Palermo motorway, taking the exit toward the Nebrodi interior and following the provincial roads that climb up to the village. A car is recommended due to the hilly location and the mountainous hinterland.
