For over 130 years, in Rovato, the Lombardy Meat fair has celebrated the world of livestock and meat in all its forms. Founded in 1891, it is one of the oldest and most prestigious livestock events in Lombardy: horses, sheep, calves, and beef cattle parade at the Foro Boario, alongside stands of typical products, agricultural machinery, tastings, competitions, and conferences. The heart of Franciacorta tradition, the fair combines its rural soul with its food and wine heritage, with the famous Manzo all'Olio De.Co. as the protagonist of the Gran Galà. A spring event that tells the agricultural and gastronomic identity of the Brescia area.

A Fair Over a Century Old

In the Municipality of Rovato, in the province of Brescia, spring brings one of the most rooted and identity-defining events in Franciacorta: the National Lombardy Meat Fair. Founded in 1891, it is one of the oldest and most important livestock fairs in Lombardy, and it takes place at the Foro Boario Exhibition Centre, the epicentre of this tradition since the second half of the 19th century.

The event is dedicated to the world of meat 360 degrees, to the traditions of the land, to food and wine, and to the health of the agricultural and livestock sectors. An event that intertwines the productive and cultural dimensions, enhancing the territory through its typical products and excellences.

The heart of the fair is the livestock exhibition: each edition brings to the Foro Boario about a hundred horses, sixty sheep, 200 calves for breeding, and over 130 heads of cattle for slaughter, alongside agricultural machinery, livestock products, and gastronomic stands. There are also competitions, exhibitions, conferences, and dining areas.

Among the most anticipated moments is the Gran Galà del Manzo all'Olio De.Co., dedicated to the signature dish of Rovato: Manzo all'Olio, recognized as a Municipal Denomination, is a preparation of local tradition that is celebrated and offered in local restaurants during the fair.
