A Heritage That Opens to the Public

The National Day of Italian Historic Houses is the initiative promoted annually by ADSI - Association of Italian Historic Houses, which opens the doors of private villas, castles, and palaces for free throughout Italy. In Thiene, in the province of Vicenza, the city participates with four prestigious residences.

The Four Thiene Residences

The protagonist is the Thiene Castle, a symbol of the city in 15th-century Venetian Gothic style, accompanied by Villa Cornaggia, Villa Fabris, and Palazzo Zironda-Saugo. Each tells a chapter of the city's history, featuring architecture, furnishings, and collections that normally remain exclusive to the owners.

Guided Tours by Local Youth

The free guided tours are led by students from the tourism program at ITET "Aulo Ceccato" in Thiene: a project that combines heritage valorization with youth training, as they act as guides leading visitors through the historic rooms. At the Castle, for example, the tour includes the courtyard, the east rooms, the gallery, and the stables.

A Cultural Spring Event

The Day takes place in May and is now an anticipated event on the cultural calendar of the Alto Vicentino region, capable of bringing residents and visitors closer to the richness of Veneto's historic houses.
