A stage for young musicians
The National Competition of Musical Performance City of Piove di Sacco is a benchmark event for youth musical education in Veneto. Every year, it draws hundreds of candidates from all over Italy, including the islands, to the Giovanni Paolo II Auditorium in Piove di Sacco, in the province of Padua.
Four sections, many categories
The competition is open to all instruments and is divided into four sections — solo piano, chamber music, solo instruments, and secondary schools with a musical focus — further subdivided into numerous age categories. A jury of musicians and teachers evaluates the performances over several days of auditions.
The final concert
The concluding event is the final award ceremony concert, where the winners of the various categories perform for the public, in a morning that celebrates the talent and dedication of the young performers.
Musical Competition City of Piove di Sacco — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the National Competition of Musical Performance City of Piove di Sacco, the 19th, takes place from April 23 to May 3 at the Giovanni Paolo II Auditorium. A record-breaking edition, with 463 participants from all over Italy.
The auditions are divided into the four sections of the competition, split into 19 age categories, and culminate in the final award ceremony concert on Sunday, May 3, at 10:45 AM, featuring performances by the winners.
