Brugherio Lights Up Christmas

Every winter, the Municipality of Brugherio, in the province of Monza and Brianza, transforms Piazza Roma into a Christmas village that stays lit from late November until January 6th. It's the initiative that marks the holidays in the city, designed for families, children, and the entire Brugherio community.

The Ice Rink and the Ferris Wheel

The heart of the village is the ice skating rink, enlivened by artistic shows and, on weekday mornings, open free of charge to primary school classes. Next to it, the sixteen-meter-high Ferris wheel offers a unique view of the city, while Santa Claus's House welcomes the little ones with animated readings, creative workshops, and meetings with holiday characters.

Markets, Lights, and Atmosphere

Every weekend, the village offers themed markets: hobbyists and local flavors, regional specialties, crafts, and a chocolate market with its workshops. Framing it all are the widespread Christmas lights and the evocative artistic projection on the facade of the Church of San Bartolomeo, which serves as a backdrop for Christmas evenings.

A Month of Festivities in the City

More than just a market, the Christmas Village is a project involving various departments of the Municipality of Brugherio—from Commerce to Culture, to Educational Policies—aiming to make the city center a vibrant place throughout the holiday season. The free opening of the ice rink to school groups on weekday mornings, the readings and workshops at Santa Claus's House, and the weekend themed markets intertwine commerce, culture, and education. The result is an event that accompanies the city in the province of Monza and Brianza from late November until Epiphany, warming the winter with lights, flavors, and community moments.
