Four days of tradition, faith, and celebration in the heart of Brugherio
The Festa Patronale di Brugherio, in the heart of the province of Monza and Brianza, is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary and traditionally falls on the second Sunday of October. For four days, the Municipality transforms its squares and streets into a large celebration space, where the religious dimension coexists with the civic and popular one, in a balance that characterizes Lombard patronal festivals.
The institutional heart of the festival is the ceremony of Civic Merits and Honorary Citizenships, held on Sunday morning in the Council Chamber, which rewards those who have contributed to the life of the city. In the afternoon, certificates of academic merit are awarded to young people from Brugherio who have distinguished themselves in their studies.
The popular soul of the festival is concentrated in the Via Turati area, where the classic Luna Park with rides and attractions is set up for all four days. In Piazza Roma, street food enlivens the days from morning till midnight, alongside stalls and a market of high-end vendors. On weekends, a free tourist train connects Piazza Roma to the Luna Park area, making it convenient for families to get around.
The evenings are filled with music: from the liscio orchestra in Piazza Virgo Fidelis to concerts in Piazza Roma. The Villa Fiorita Park hosts initiatives like the public piano "88 keys in freedom," while art exhibitions, demonstrations, and car displays round out the daytime program. The festival culminates on Sunday evening with a pyromusical show in Piazza Roma.
The Festa Patronale 2026 is expected to take place around the second Sunday of October, from October 9 to 12, reprising the event's established structure: the ceremony of civic merits and honorary citizenships in the Council Chamber, the Luna Park in Via Turati, street food and markets in Piazza Roma, evening concerts, and the concluding pyromusical show.
The detailed program will be published by the Municipality of Brugherio in the weeks preceding the event.
