MusicAnzio is the live music festival that brings summer evenings in Anzio to life—a coastal town on the Tyrrhenian Sea in the province of Rome, Lazio. The initiative is promoted by the Pro Loco Città di Anzio with the support of the Municipality of Anzio, bringing local bands and musical groups to the stage set up in Piazza Garibaldi for a series of free events designed for audiences of all ages.

Local bands in the spotlight

The heart of the festival lies in its local musicians: MusicAnzio was created to offer them a significant stage in front of the city's audience, while simultaneously providing residents and tourists with live music evenings under the stars. The response from local groups was so overwhelming that all available slots were filled within hours, a testament to the enthusiasm with which the Anzio music community has embraced the project.

A volunteer-driven project

MusicAnzio is entirely volunteer-based: bands perform for free, while organizers and technicians donate their time without compensation. The only expenses incurred are for SIAE royalties, which are duly paid. This is the spirit of the initiative, summarized by the Pro Loco itself in the idea that it is "the city playing for the city," in a festive and shared atmosphere.

When and where

The events take place in Piazza Garibaldi, in the center of Anzio, starting at 9:30 PM. The 2026 calendar features two blocks of evenings: from August 4 to 7 and from August 14 to 19. The festival is part of the rich Anzio summer program, which for 2026 offers dozens of events including music, theater, shows, and food and wine appointments throughout the season.

Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and steeped in history—from the Neronian port to the days of the Allied landings—Anzio treats summer as its peak season. MusicAnzio contributes to this buzz by bringing live music to one of the city's most popular squares, just a short walk from the port and the town's center, making it the perfect opportunity to combine a seaside evening with a free open-air concert.
