About Musica in Quota

Musica in Quota brings world-class live music to the peaks of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola region: ten free concerts on as many natural stages nestled among alpine pastures and valleys. The Crevoladossola stop takes place at Alpe Prasca, at an altitude of 1,299 meters, accessible via a hike starting from the village of Scezza. This traveling festival blends hiking, alpine landscapes, and high-level musical performances into a unique experience in the heart of the borderlands of Piedmont.

Musica in Quota in Crevoladossola

Musica in Quota is one of the most original festivals in Northern Piedmont: a traveling event that brings live music to the mountains of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola every summer, transforming alpine pastures, mountain passes, and lakes into open-air natural stages. The stop in the Municipality of Crevoladossola is held at Alpe Prasca, at an altitude of 1,299 meters, in the evocative setting of the upper Ossola Valley.

A stage at 1,299 meters

The Alpe Prasca concert is one of the season's opening events and can only be reached on foot, following a hiking trail that starts from the hamlet of Scezza (750 m). The trail, approximately 9 kilometers long and classified as an E-level (hiking) route, winds through forests and pastures until it reaches the alpine meadow where the concert begins at noon. While those interested can join a group led by CAI volunteers, the trail is also suitable for independent hikers, with refreshment points available along the way and at the destination.

Music, nature, and art

The festival's philosophy is simple and captivating: earn the music through the effort of the climb, rewarded by a concert in a natural amphitheater surrounded by the Alps. The Crevoladossola stop is enhanced by Crevola Art Trekking, an art exhibition spread along the trail that accompanies walkers from the start to the summit, merging hiking, contemporary art, and music.

A festival for the territory

Organized by the Musica in Quota Association with the support of local authorities, the Municipality of Crevoladossola, and the Piedmont Region, the festival promotes villages and mountain pastures often far from mass tourism. Every concert is free and serves as an opportunity to rediscover the Ossola mountains through the universal language of music.

Why attend

  • Free concerts in alpine locations of rare beauty in the heart of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola region.
  • An experience that combines hiking, landscape, and musical culture.
  • Diverse musical programs: jazz, folk, world music, singer-songwriter performances, and tributes to Italian music.
  • An authentic way to experience the Ossola valleys and the mountains of Piedmont.
