Musica in Quota is a festival that for twenty years has blended live music with slow hiking among the peaks of Upper Piedmont. Every concert is accessible only on foot, climbing toward the pastures and mountain huts of the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola region: the effort of the hike is part of the experience and serves as a prelude to the performance. The stop at Alpe Curgei, in the municipality of Miazzina, takes place in the wild heart of the Val Grande National Park, one of the largest wilderness areas in Italy.

The concert on July 19, 2026

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, at 11:30 AM, Alpe Curgei will host the Village H duo, offering an intimate and refined sound experience immersed in the silence of the mountains. As with all festival events, admission is free: attendees meet at the trailhead and hike up together to the pasture, where the audience enjoys the concert while sitting on the meadows, framed by the peaks of Val Grande.

A twentieth edition in the Piedmontese Alps

The 2026 edition is special: Musica in Quota celebrates its twentieth anniversary with ten concerts scheduled from June 7 to September 20, all starting at 11:30 AM and all free of charge. From Alpe Prasca in Val d'Ossola to the Sanctuary of San Bernardo in the Oasi Zegna of the Biella area, the festival visits some of the most fascinating alpine landscapes in northern Piedmont. The event is organized by the Musica in Quota Association, chaired by Claudio Cottini, with the support of regional bodies, foundations, and national parks.

Walking and listening

The festival's philosophy is simple: the mountain is not just a place to cross, but a cultural landscape to be experienced with slowness and awareness. The routes to reach the high-altitude stages are classified as CAI E (hiking difficulty) and must be navigated independently; along the trails and at the starting points, guides are available to provide information and assistance. Climbing to Alpe Curgei means crossing the woods and pastures of the Val Grande National Park before being enveloped by the notes of the Village H duo.
