The Music Festival in Noicattaro

The Music Festival is the international event that, every June 21st, coinciding with the summer solstice, transforms streets, squares, courtyards, and churchyards into open-air stages for professional and amateur musicians alike. Born in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique, it has spread across Europe since 1985; in Italy, it is promoted by the Ministry of Culture through the AIPFM (Italian Association for the Promotion of the Music Festival), which is coordinating the 32nd Italian edition in 2026. Noicattaro, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, in Apulia, also joins the event with its own local, free, and open-to-all program.

A widespread and participatory project

The spirit of the Music Festival is one of participation: not just one large concert, but many initiatives scattered throughout the area that showcase local associations and choral groups. In Noicattaro, the torch is carried in particular by the Il Setticlavio Association, a third-sector organization based on Corso Roma that has been promoting musical culture for over thirty years through concerts, workshops, and youth training, including the Polyphonic Choir, the Variotinta Band, and percussion and guitar ensembles.

The 2026 Program

The 2026 Music Festival calendar in Noicattaro is divided into two free-entry evenings:

• Friday, June 19th, 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM — "All you need is love", a choral concert organized by Feniarco APS, the national federation of choral associations, dedicated to ensemble singing and popular and light music repertoire.
• Sunday, June 21st, 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM — "Music Festival 2026", a concert by the Il Setticlavio Association, featuring its choral and instrumental groups performing everything from classical repertoire to great pop and contemporary hits.
