A free evening of music and cabaret in the heart of Centocelle, celebrating the authentic Roman spirit
Music and Cabaret in Piazzale delle Gardenie is the annual summer event that lights up the Centocelle neighborhood in Rome's Municipio V, in the name of the most authentic and popular Roman spirit. For one night, the large square becomes an open-air stage where live music and cabaret tell the story of the city's soul: traditional songs, Roman irony, and the joy of gathering in the streets among the neighborhood's buildings.
The event is promoted by the Associazione Lando Fiorini per la romanità, which brings the artistic memory of the great Roman singer-songwriter and actor to various locations across Rome and the Lazio region every summer. The Puff, the historic club and brand created by Lando Fiorini, is the symbol of a theatrical and musical Roman identity that belongs to the whole city: a cultural heritage that the association's artists continue to pass on, taking the stage to revive that popular spirit made of songs, sketches, and wit.
The heart of the evening is the fusion of music and cabaret: about two hours of entertainment where the audience is invited to sing, laugh, and dance. Great classics of Roman song, from Rugantino to traditional melodies, alternate with comedic moments, creating a journey that unites different generations and brings the warmth of a neighborhood festival to the square. Admission is free, as per the spirit of the event: a celebration open to everyone, designed to highlight the local popular identity.
Piazzale delle Gardenie is one of the iconic landmarks of Centocelle, a lively, working-class neighborhood in Rome's eastern suburbs. The choice of this location is no coincidence: bringing the great tradition of Roman culture out of the city-center theaters and back to the neighborhoods means recognizing the suburbs as a key protagonist in the capital's cultural life. Supported by Municipio V, the evening is both a show and a community moment, an opportunity for families, the elderly, and young people to come together under the same summer sky.
Part of the Roman summer calendar, the festival is part of a wider tour that the Associazione Lando Fiorini dedicates to Roman culture every year, visiting various sites in Rome and Lazio. The event at Piazzale delle Gardenie has become a small mid-July classic: a simple and sincere way to celebrate the city, its music, and its irony, in the spirit of a tradition that continues to speak to everyone.
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, starting at 9:00 PM, Piazzale delle Gardenie hosted the second edition of Music and Cabaret in the name of Roman spirit, a free-admission evening promoted by the Associazione Lando Fiorini per la romanità with the support of Rome's Municipio V.
The Orchestraccia, led by Marco Conidi, took to the stage set up in the Centocelle square for a show that combined popular Roman music and theater, involving the audience in a continuous sing-along and dance. The evening was hosted by Francesco Fiorini, joined by comedian Marco Capretti—highly popular with Roman audiences for his wit and versatility—alongside artists from the Puff. About two hours of irony, music, and cabaret to celebrate the authentic soul of the capital.
