Piedmontese cinema arrives in Omegna

Movie Tellers – The Cinema Caravan is a traveling film festival promoted by the Piemonte Movie association, designed to bring works produced within the region directly to local theaters. In June 2026, the caravan will cross the entire region, involving twenty theaters in nineteen municipalities, including Omegna, on Lake Orta, in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont.

The stop at Cinema Sociale

The Omegna event takes place at the Cinema Sociale with the so-called Program C, one of the four selections that make up the festival. Each program brings together a short film, a documentary, and a feature film, following the proven formula that defines Movie Tellers: not just a simple screening, but an evening of connection between the audience and the creators of Piedmontese cinema.

A widespread regional festival

The strength of Movie Tellers lies in its traveling nature: the festival moves beyond a single location to reach local communities, enhancing the value of small-town cinemas as permanent cultural hubs. The 2026 edition is part of the CAP – Piedmont Audiovisual Circuit project, designed to build a stable distribution network for regional cinema and establish theaters as key local landmarks.

Meetings with authors and social moments

A distinctive feature of the festival is the presence of directors and authors in the theater, who engage with the audience after the screenings. The Omegna evening also includes a convivial tasting, an opportunity for informal exchange between the public and the guests, making each stop a true community event rather than just a night at the movies.
