Queer Days – Days of Queer Cinema and Culture is the autumn event that lights up the Trastevere district in Rome every year with a festival entirely dedicated to the perspectives and stories of the contemporary queer scene. Born in 2020 from the meeting of Zalib, Frocya, and the CineQueer collective, Queer Days has filled a void in the capital's cultural landscape, offering a free and accessible space where independent cinema engages with activism, art, and the LGBTQ+ community.

A multidisciplinary festival

The heart of the event is the international short film competition, which gathers works from all over the world for each edition, often featuring national premieres. A rich and cross-disciplinary program develops around the screenings: talks and meetings, theatrical performances, book presentations, live music, stand-up comedy, and video mapping. A format designed to share queer culture both with those who know it well and those approaching it for the first time.

The fourth edition in October 2026

The fourth edition of Queer Days is confirmed for October 2026 in Rome, organized in collaboration between Zalib and Frocya with the CineQueer collective. As per tradition, the event will be free to attend and open to the public, in a Trastevere venue yet to be defined. Roots in Trastevere, international outlook

A district that is a symbol of popular and creative Rome, Trastevere offers an ideal setting for Queer Days, amidst alleys, cultural spaces, and youth gathering centers. Previous editions have taken place in venues such as the District I Youth Center and the Lazio Region's Scena space, confirming the festival's bond with the city's fabric. The international dimension of the competition and the focus on themes of intersectionality — trans identity, feminism, self-determination, civil rights — make Queer Days one of the most vibrant realities of Italian queer cinema.
