The annual gathering of the Brescia 'Penne Nere'

The Monte Suello Section Alpini Gathering is the main annual gathering of the National Alpini Association section named after Monte Suello, a site of Risorgimento battles in Valle Sabbia. Each year, the event takes place in a different municipality within the section's territory; in 2026, the honor falls to Salò, in the province of Brescia.

Three days of ceremonies and community

The gathering is marked by the traditional rituals of the Alpine world: the assembly of groups, the ceremony of the traveling Banner, the procession through the town streets, the flag-raising, and honors to the fallen at the monuments. The 2026 edition has a special significance: the Monte Suello Section celebrates its one hundred years of foundation (1926-2026). For the occasion, the presence of the national president of the ANA is expected, along with a centenary concert performed by the Salò Group Fanfare.
