The Monte Grappa Bike Day is a non-competitive cycling tour that takes place every year starting from Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza. The charm of the event lies in the roads closed to vehicular traffic, which allow you to tackle Monte Grappa — the "sacred mountain" of the Great War — in complete safety.
Climbing the Strada Cadorna
The route involves the climb from the Romano d'Ezzelino side along the historic Strada Cadorna, the descent on the Belluno side to the locality of Caupo, and the return through Valsugana. A challenging but accessible itinerary, made unique by the absence of cars.
An event open to all
Participation is free and requires no registration: the event is open to cyclists of all levels and all types of bicycles, including e-bikes. The meeting point is at Piazzale Cadorna, near the Ossuary Temple of Bassano, while the Rifugio Bassano marks the summit finish, with the possibility of a pasta party upon reservation.
Over ten years of history
Organized by A.S.D. Monte Grappa Bike Day and active since 2014, the event has already attracted over 70,000 cyclists in its editions, becoming a benchmark for mountain and cycle tourism lovers in the Veneto region.
Monte Grappa Bike Day — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, the 12th, of the Monte Grappa Bike Day takes place on Saturday, June 27. The meeting is scheduled from 7:00 AM at Piazzale Cadorna in Bassano del Grappa, with a group departure at 8:00 AM; participants can still choose their own departure time.
The route climbs from Romano d'Ezzelino along the Strada Cadorna, descends on the Belluno side to Caupo, and returns via Valsugana, all on roads closed to vehicular traffic. Participation is free, without registration, and open to all bikes including e-bikes.

How to get there
