The roads are just for bikes

The Monte Avena Bike Day was born in 2026 with a simple and fascinating idea: to close the roads of Monte Avena, in the territory of Feltre (province of Belluno), to cars and reserve them entirely for bicycles. A day of free, safe, and non-competitive cycle touring, to be enjoyed at a slow pace while taking in the views of the Belluno Dolomites and the Grappa massif.

Eight routes for everyone

The event offers eight panoramic routes with two starting points — the historic Birreria Pedavena and the MVC Store in Fonzaso, at the foot of Monte Avena. All types of bicycles are welcome: mountain bikes, road bikes, e-bikes, and gravel bikes. Along the route, you'll find refreshment stops, music, and entertainment, and participants receive a passport to be stamped along the route and a commemorative gift. The route skirts the historic climb of Croce d'Aune, a symbolic place for cycling: here, in 1924, the young Tullio Campagnolo had the idea that led him to invent the quick-release gear mechanism.

A celebration for two-wheel enthusiasts

Organized by Pedale Feltrino, the Monte Avena Bike Day is part of the rich calendar of cycling events in the Feltrino area and is ideally linked to the passage of the 2026 Giro d'Italia. It is designed as a popular and family-friendly celebration, where the bicycle becomes a tool for discovering the territory and for socializing.
