About MoMe Trail

The MoMe Trail is the nature run that transforms the small hamlet of Momeliano, in the Municipality of Gazzola (Province of Piacenza), into the starting point for a spectacular route through woods, castles, and panoramic trails every summer. Organized by the association A.S.D. PasSport, it offers a competitive race of about 18 km with 780 meters of positive elevation gain and two non-competitive walks of 6 and 10 km open to everyone, in a festive atmosphere with attention to the environment. An event that combines sport, hilly landscape, and conviviality under the August stars.

A trail through the hills of Val Luretta

The MoMe Trail is a nature run that takes place along the paths and woods of the hills of Momeliano, a hamlet in the Municipality of Gazzola, in the Province of Piacenza, within the Val Luretta area. The start and finish are located in the square in front of the Church of Sant'Eustorgio in Momeliano, from where participants set off towards the surrounding hills, up to the slopes of Monte Pillerone.

The routes

The MoMe Trail offers something for both the most trained athletes and those simply looking for a pleasant evening walk:

  • Competitive trail of about 18 km with a positive elevation gain of about 780 meters, reserved for holders of a competitive medical certificate;
  • Non-competitive walk of about 10 km at a free pace, open to everyone;
  • Non-competitive walk of about 6 km at a free pace, ideal for families and beginners.

The course winds through vineyards, natural paths, and glimpses of the castles that dot this corner of Emilia-Romagna, offering scenic views of the Piacenza hills.

Sport, nature, and sustainability

The MoMe Trail is not just a race: it is an event that prioritizes respect for the environment. The organization, managed by the association A.S.D. PasSport, has made concrete choices such as eliminating disposable cups at refreshment points, in line with the spirit of an event that lives and celebrates the hilly territory.

Along the route, there are refreshment points, historically located in places like Monteraschio and Ceresola, where participants can refuel before tackling the final kilometers to the finish line in Momeliano.

A celebration for the village of Gazzola

Included in the summer events calendar of the Municipality of Gazzola, the MoMe Trail is an occasion for the Val Luretta community and mountain running enthusiasts from all over the Province of Piacenza and Emilia-Romagna to come together. With a late afternoon start, the event accompanies runners and walkers until dusk, when the village of Momeliano comes alive with music and conviviality.
