Edition 2025 — Mitilugghia Festival

In March 2025, for the Feast of Saint Joseph, Piazza Santissimo Salvatore in Ragusa hosted a new edition of the Mitilugghia Tasting. The typical Iblean fried flatbread, seasoned with salt and oregano and also offered in a sweet version, brought the neighborhood to life with stalls, the scent of frying, and the convivial atmosphere of the patronal celebrations.

The 2025 edition of the Mitilugghia Festival took place in Ragusa, in Piazza Santissimo Salvatore, as part of the Feast of Saint Joseph. The event once again featured the mitilugghia, the soft fried flatbread of the Iblean peasant tradition, prepared with durum wheat semolina and fried in extra virgin olive oil, then served hot with salt and oregano. There was no shortage of sweet versions, dusted with sugar. Between tastings, moments of devotion, and conviviality, the festival confirmed its role as an identity-defining event for the district, capable of uniting popular faith and the gastronomic culture of the Ragusa territory.
