The historic May fair in the heart of Bassa modenese, over two centuries of tradition
The Mirandola Trade Fair is one of the most anticipated and deeply rooted events in the calendar of the Bassa modenese. With over two hundred editions behind it, it is one of the oldest traditional fairs in Emilia: every year, in mid-May, it transforms the historic center of the Municipality of Mirandola, in the Province of Modena, into a large exhibition and festival space that attracts visitors from all over the Northern Area and beyond.
The heart of the event is Piazza Costituente, home to the main stage, alongside Piazza Conciliazione with a second stage and the streets of the center filled with stalls and stands. Over a hundred exhibitors liven up the various sectors of the fair:
Alongside the stands, the fair offers shows, concerts, debates, fashion shows, and nationally important guests every evening, with a program designed primarily for the people of Mirandola but capable of attracting audiences from the entire area.
The Mirandola Fair is not just a commercial event: it is an identity event that intertwines city memory, popular traditions, and community life. The event, organized by the Municipality of Mirandola, also accompanies the festivities linked to local religious tradition and has been a moment of meeting for the city for generations, rebuilt and brought back to life after the earthquake that struck Emilia in 2012. For those visiting the Province of Modena in spring, it is the ideal opportunity to discover the authentic face of a plain town in the Po Valley and its flavors.
The 222nd Mirandola Trade Fair enlivened the historic center from May 13th to 17th, 2026, with over a hundred exhibitors, the street food area, the food and wine marquee, and the Luna Park. Five evenings of free entertainment took place in Piazza Costituente and Piazza Conciliazione, with chef and television personality Joe Bastianich as the special guest. The event was organized by the Municipality of Mirandola in collaboration with L'Accento.
Throughout the fair: over a hundred exhibitors, street food area, food and wine marquee along Circonvallazione Est near Lolli Stadium, Luna Park, and family attractions.
