The Olympic Games in Predazzo

From February 7 to 19, 2026, the Predazzo Ski Jumping Stadium, located in the municipality of Predazzo in Val di Fiemme (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige), served as a competition venue for the XXV Olympic Winter Games of Milan-Cortina 2026. The facility hosted all Olympic ski jumping competitions and the jumping portion of the Nordic combined, while the cross-country skiing segment of the combined event took place at the nearby Lago di Tesero stadium.

The Ski Jumping Stadium

Named in memory of Giuseppe Dal Ben, the stadium was built in the late 1980s for the 1991 Nordic World Ski Championships and has since become one of Europe's premier ski jumping venues. Ahead of the Games, the facility underwent extensive renovations starting in 2022: the two main hills were redesigned and extended to become the Normal Hill HS109 and the Large Hill HS143, featuring high-performance launch ramps, refrigerated tracks, and modernized landing zones. Additions included a new judges' tower, an upgraded snowmaking system, an inclined elevator, and a state-of-the-art lighting system for night events. The structure offers approximately 2,500 seats, supplemented by temporary grandstands during the Olympics.

Ski Jumping Program

The six Olympic jumping events, all medal-awarding, took place over a few days:

• February 7 — Women's individual Normal Hill HS109 (opening event, held at night)
• February 9 — Men's individual Normal Hill HS109
• February 10 — Mixed team event on the Normal Hill
• February 14 — Men's individual Large Hill HS143
• February 15 — Women's individual Large Hill HS143, marking the historic Olympic debut for women on the Large Hill
• February 16 — Men's Super Team event on the Large Hill

Nordic Combined

The Predazzo hill also hosted the jumping portions of the three men's Nordic combined events: the Individual Gundersen from the Normal Hill (February 11), the Individual Gundersen from the Large Hill (February 17), and the Team Sprint (February 19), with the cross-country skiing portion held at the Lago di Tesero cross-country stadium.

An Extraordinary Event in Val di Fiemme

The Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics represented a unique and unrepeatable milestone for Predazzo and the entire Val di Fiemme, a valley with a long Nordic tradition that had already hosted multiple World Championships. Surrounding the competitions were various initiatives, celebrations, and side events that brought the Trentino town to life during the two weeks of the Games, welcoming athletes, fans, and media from all over the world to the Dolomites.
